These luxurious silk scrunchies are a collaboration with Gigi's Threads. Gigi turned my grandmother's vintage silks into something beautiful and useful for anyone with long hair. The images were created in collaboration with Dr. Lauren Taylor Hudson, a geography professor, writer, and organizer. In the summer of 2023, we journeyed through Italian New York and made these images in front of a pastry shop on Arthur Avenue in Little Italy in the Bronx.
