The images were created in collaboration with Ramya Ramaswamy, an educator and organizer, in Brooklyn, New York. Ramya and I met through a neighborhood food project and many summers later food is still a big part of our friendship: we eat and cook together, we send each other photos of produce and flowers, we exchange recipes (especially for hearty stews), and we both love solo dinners sitting at a bar with a good book.
