In 2015, I was visiting the island of my maternal great-grandparents, Sicily, and while walking those ancient streets I came across a small shop that was dimly lit and run by an elederly woman. The space was an artist's studio. I immediately felt that this woman understood the world through this space where she arranged and rearranged her things, some for sale, some were items she was fixing for others, many objects in the making. I purchased two dresses and a very nice, sculptural necklace which I tried to replicate for Oh Johnny. This is it: the Sicily Woman necklace is a humble homage to that very sweet, insightful moment which inspires me to this day.
